Thoughts From the Coffee Table: Some people are so demanding! A friend of mine was shocked to realize that something she always hated about her job, she now missed terribly. Her customers. She didn’t hate her customers. But hey were always waiting outside the door for her to open the bar each day for Happy Hour. “Seeing them lined up always stressed me out. I felt they were judging me for not opening early, or that they were wondering what I was doing.” Now 3 weeks without a job, she misses them. “I worry about them. I hope they are all OK. Most of them were regulars, and although I didn’t always appreciate them, I sure do now.” March 22 we got an urgent request to foster a shelter cat during shut down. Little did we know that within just a few hours, Penelope would become a permanent member of our family. After losing Bob (who was almost 17) 3 years ago, we felt it unfair to adopt another since we travel so much. How quickly things change. Penelope only seems annoyed when we pet her and talk sweetly to her for the 1000st time that day. And soon life will return to normal, and we will fly off from time to time. It’s been said that you don’t know what you’re missing until it’s gone. So we plan to annoy her all the time. So that we all value what we have, when we have it.
